My love for textiles and fiber started when I was in elementary school and began making my own clothing. I continued to sew and make my own clothes all through college and early married life. I enjoyed experimenting with different fabrics and construction methods. Knitting came a little later, I remember my first knitting project. It was a summer camp project when I was in elementary school: a pale yellow scarf knitted in acrylic yarn so tightly that it could have held water. I have come a long way from that girl. I didn't knit again until I was married and had children. All along I would sew or knit things that my family needed, mostly household items, pillows, curtains, quilts, or hats and scarves. I never stopped making it just took a back seat for awhile.
Sagebrush Studio is where I share my love of natural dyes & natural fibers with others. Creating simple multi-use items for the modern home. Using textiles naturally dyed at my backyard studio, Camp Artemisia. They are dyed by hand with roots, wood chips, leaves, flowers, and insects. Hand dyed, each one is unique, not perfect. Patty
